Subsidies in 2025: what can you get if you want to make your home more sustainable?

In this article:

Do you want to make your home more sustainable, but are you put off by the costs? Good news: in 2025, there will be plenty of subsidies available again. Think of schemes for insulation, heat pumps and more. In this blog, you can read what is possible and how we at DuurzaamsteBouwer.nl can help you with this - from advice to subsidy application.

Suppose you live in a nice house, but you notice that your energy bill is going through the roof. Then you hear more and more about insulation, heat pumps, solar panels, and so on. But yes… that all costs money. Fortunately, there is the government, which tries to make it affordable through all kinds of subsidies.

I work at duurzaamstebouwer.nl , and we help people who want to make their homes more sustainable – from start to finish. So not just the work itself, but also finding subsidies, applications, paperwork, everything. Below I will explain what will be possible in 2025. And spoiler: there is quite a lot in it.

1. ISDE – the best-known subsidy

The Investment Subsidy for Sustainable Energy and Energy Conservation (ISDE for short) is actually the main prize when it comes to subsidies. This is intended for homeowners who, for example, want to insulate their home or have a heat pump installed.

What can you do with it?

  • Cavity wall, floor, roof and glass insulation
The amounts have been increased in 2025. For example, you now get €5.25 per m² for cavity wall insulation, which really makes a difference. And the great thing is: if you combine two measures , you get more subsidy per component. So cavity wall + glass insulation = bingo.

  • Installing a heat pump
Here, something has been adjusted. For air- to-water heat pumps, the fixed amount has been reduced somewhat, but you actually get more per kilowatt. So: the greater the capacity, the better for your wallet.
Think of amounts between €1,250 and €3,500, depending on your pump.
  • Solar boiler or electric cooking facility
Less popular, but also subsidized. Especially if you really want to seriously reduce your gas consumption.

2. Local subsidies – check your municipality!

Not every municipality offers something, but when they do… it is often just that extra push in the back.

Some municipalities give a bonus on top of the ISDE. Or they have separate regulations for, for example, green roofs, rain barrels or small energy-saving measures.

💡 Tip: check energiesubsidiewijzer.nl – there you can enter your postcode and see exactly what your municipality offers.

3. Energy saving loan via Heat Fund

No subsidy, but handy: you can also borrow money cheaply to make your home more sustainable. For example, if you don’t have enough savings, but still want to take steps.

The Warmtefonds offers the Energy Saving Loan for this purpose . Interest is low, and for households with a low income the loan is even interest-free (!).

View Warmtefonds.nl for the options.

4. Landlords take note: SVOH

Do you have a home that you rent out? Then you can use the SVOH subsidy . This is specifically intended for private landlords who want to make their rental home(s) more sustainable.

In 2025, the amount per home will have increased to €10,000. Quite a lot. Please note: this only applies to homes in the regulated sector.

Finally, just start with a plan

What we often see at Duurzaamste Bouwer is that people can’t see the forest for the trees. Heat pump here, subsidy there, then you hear something about hybrid systems or solar panels…

And then you quickly think: never mind. But that’s a shame.

What you need is just a clear plan. Someone to look with you: what does your house need? What does it yield? How do you get as much subsidy as possible? And who will execute it – without you having to reinvent the wheel?

Well, that’s exactly what we do. We’ve already made hundreds of homes more sustainable, and we really do everything for you. From subsidy application to installation.

👉 Contact duurzaamstebouwer.nl if you want to brainstorm without obligation. No bullshit, no sales pitches – just clear advice.

Sustainability doesn’t have to be expensive. Certainly not if you make smart use of all that is possible in 2025. And let’s be honest: you will soon live there much more pleasantly and energy-efficiently.

Let those subsidies work for you 💪
