Subsidy for the purchase of a heat pump in 2025: What to expect
Subsidy for the purchase of a heat pump in 2025: What to expect
Is it possible to purchase a heat pump on the schedule? If you wait until 2025, that has some consequences. Indeed, a number of important changes are being made with regard to subsidies for heat pumps. Not all details are already available, but it seems that lower-powered hybrid heat pumps in particular will receive a lot less subsidy. Below is an overview of the changes.
The ISDE subsidy for heat pumps in 2025
Fortunately, the ISDE subsidy will also take effect in 2025. This subsidy also includes the heat pump. So good news for homeowners who are planning to make their homes more sustainable. The government has indicated that it wants to go ahead with the scheme. But the conditions are being adjusted, according to policy documents.
The biggest change that is being made focuses on the lower-powered heat pump, such as the hybrid system. The government chooses this to ensure that these hybrid heat pumps do not receive too much of the available subsidies. This would be expected because these models are a lot cheaper compared to the fully electric models. The government has indicated that from 2025, the maximum subsidy for hybrid heat pumps (to approximately 6-7 kW) will be reduced.
For an air-water heat pump (which is used in many hybrid systems), this means that the basic amount of the subsidy will be reduced: from €2,100 to €1,250. In addition, the owner receives €225 per kW of power! Well-known models such as the Elga Ace or the Quatt hybrid will soon no longer receive a subsidy of around €2,400, but around €1,700.
The consequences for the fully electric heat pump
The lower subsidy for hybrid heat pumps is intended to stimulate sales of the fully electric heat pumps. These heat pumps are expected to receive a much higher subsidy in 2025, so when in doubt, the advice is: invest in a fully electric heat pump if you want to make your home completely gas-free!
In addition, this shift is in line with the government's policy to speed up the energy transition. By reducing subsidies for the hybrid systems, the government wants to encourage buyers to make the switch to fully electric heat pumps even faster. These heat pumps contribute to the complete elimination of gas. So also a step in the right direction for the environment!
Subsidies alongside the ISDE
Other subsidies will also remain in existence, such as local subsidies or discounts from network operators. This depends on your place of residence, so we can't tell you about it in detail. However, we can promise that these subsidies will still exist in 2025. Often, these subsidies can even be combined with the ISDE. So pay attention! The best time to buy your heat pump
The new rules will be finalized in December 2024. When is the best time to purchase the heat pump is therefore still unclear. It also depends on the type of heat pump. If you go for a hybrid type, it is expected to be cheaper in 2024. If you expect to go for a fully electric heat pump, it may be cheaper to schedule it before January 2025. We'll know more in December!
Although the subsidy for hybrid heat pumps will fall in 2025, the financial benefit of a heat pump remains very attractive. Are you considering a heat pump but not sure which one fits your situation? Let us advise you for free!
